Irish Subsidy Attendance Adjustments
Irish Subsidy Attendance Adjustments
If a child is receiving NCS subsidies, accurate sign in and out times need to be recorded for each child every day. Whether a child is eligible for their full NCS subsidy allowance, or not, depends on their actual attended hours which is monitored over a certain amount of time. Occasionally, the recorded time stamps within the attendance reconciliation are not a true reflection of the actual hours attended and these may need to be amended.

Possible scenarios described below:
Scenario 1
If the child was signed in late or signed out too early, the sign in and out times may need to be adjusted upwards to make the actual attended hours an accurate reflection of the child's attendance.
Scenario 2
The provider may wish to maximise the amount of eligible subsidy received by the child. The NCS subsidy system always rounds attended hours up to the nearest hour so if a child attends for 1 hour 55 minutes then they will receive 2 hours of NCS. However, if this child has been awarded 3 hours of NCS per day then the provider may decide to add 10 minutes to the booking, so that attendance is 2 hours 5 mins, to ensure the full eligible subsidy is received.
How To Adjust Attended NCS Hours
The booked hours versus attended hours can be found within the attendance reconciliation by hovering over the purple/red bubble next to an NCS child. The NCS hours bubble will show as red if Booked hours and Attended hours do not match. If they match it will show as purple. When hovering over the square, it will show Booked hours vs Attended hours eg “2 Attended / 2 Booked”.

Within the attendance tab within the activity, you can adjust the attended time of a NCS child as desired by selecting either
The magic wand which will automatically match the attended hours to the booked hours for that child
Or by toggling the up or down arrows to increase the attended hours
Adjusting the attended hours up or down will update the total attended NCS hours.
