Roster Approval Period Settings

Scenarios:

  1. You want to understand the Approval Period Settings

This document assumes the following:

  • You have activated the Roster

  • You are creating and applying roster templates to activities.

Roster Approval Period Overview

The Approval Period setting exists so that you can set up staff shifts weeks or even months in advance, but still make changes and re-publish the roster in smaller increments. The Roster Approval period allows administrators to publish the staff schedule in a weekly, fortnightly, monthly or entire activity timeframe.

  • The automatic default setting for the approval period will always be the duration of each activity.

  • We recommend you align this setting with your organisation's pay cycle.

Default Approval Period Setting

  1. Use the drop-down menu to select the approval period timeframe.

Example Scenario

  • You run a two week holiday programme.

  • You want to publish the roster weekly for this holiday programme.

You should setup the Roster Approval Period for as one week. This will enable you to create a roster template that covers the whole holiday programme of two weeks, allowing you to plan in advance. While also enabling you to publish and email the roster twice throughout the holiday programme. Meaning that you can make changes to the roster for the last week of the holiday programme if needed.
